Oncor Tree Trimming in the Historic District

The City of McKinney understands residents' concerns about recent tree trimming in the Historic District. Mature trees are an important part of the character and charm of these neighborhoods, and we recognize that significant trimming can be upsetting.

The work is being performed by Oncor as part of a power system resiliency project that includes required power line clearance work. While the City does not have the legal authority to direct how Oncor performs this work, City staff have been actively engaged with Oncor since concerns were first raised and will continue advocating on behalf of residents while communicating community concerns throughout the project.
