Safe Streets McKinney
Safe Streets McKinney is a local safety initiative that focuses on making McKinney’s streets safer for pedestrians, cyclists, and drivers.
The purpose of this safety action plan is to make our streets safer for all users by reducing and eventually eliminating traffic-related deaths and serious injuries from occurring on McKinney’s streets.
Through public engagement, policy evaluation, and infrastructure planning, this effort will help shape a safer transportation network for the community.
In McKinney, from 2020 to 2024:
- 36 people lost their lives in traffic-related incidents
- 213 individuals were seriously injured
How the plan works
- Identify a High Injury Network (HIN) based on crash data
- Engage the public to document safety concerns
- Evaluate and update policies to prioritize roadway safety
